Chiang Mai
Chiang Mai is Thailand’s
northern capital and the second largest city. A surge
of 5-star hotels have recently opened there including
The Chedi, Dusit Thani and The Mandarin Oriental. Additional
hotels such as Shangri La, Le Meridien and Banyan Tree
are now under construction. The influx of these
new hotels and the research conducted prior to launching
is clear evidence that Chiang Mai’s 5-star market is thriving.
With some 4 million visitors expected in 2006, Chiang Mai
has proven itself as one of Thailand’s best options as
a destination for high net worth individuals. Bungalows
that rent for USD $1750.00 per day is nothing out of the ordinary
at The Four Seasons Resort, just 200 metres away from Azaya.
The demand for luxury accommodation in Chiang Mai clearly
outweighs the supply. Chiang Mai’s 5-star options would
be limited strictly to the hotel environment.
Chiang Mai is still very Thai and rather unspoilt . Whilst
there are no direct flights to Chiang Mai currently from the
UK, there are approx 45 flights per day from Bangkok, that
is, via the same route millions take to get to Koh Samui.
Azaya
Villas is a small development of only 12 prestigious villas,
and they will no doubt be sold quickly
