Benahavis
The village of Benahavis is set inland, approximately
7
km from the coast. Benahavis was recently featured in "The
Mail on Sunday" as one of the most affluent villages
in Europe! There are numerous restaurants in the village
and it has a typical Andalucian style which is a major attraction,
being ideally located only 35 minutes from Malaga Airport
with easy access right along the Costa del Sol as well as
inland.
Recently, Benahavis has become very popular; there have been
several high-profile developments completed and more are in
the pipeline. In spite of this, the village remains remarkably
unspoiled, with the winding narrow streets typical of the
Pueblos Blancos (white villages) in Andalucia. The
old quarter with its white washed houses and narrow winding
roads retains its quaint village feel.
It's often said that Benahavis is known for three things; fabulous gastronomy, the golf courses and for the beautiful area Las Angosturas.
You certainly need never go hungry with over 20 top-class
restaurants, the highest concentration of high class restaurants
in the Marbella region and the town draws visitors by the
thousand who comes simply to savour the cuisine.
