Campeche
Campeche is a new tourist destination and is receiving an
ever increasing number of visitors every year so there will
be high potential for the rental market. The state
of Campeche currently has a deficit in tourist accommodation
and the government is promoting the whole state as an exclusive
beach and golf destination. A fundamental part of this
strategy is the requirement for more tourist accommodation
and resorts.
The State of Campeche has been preserved from mass tourism
and has one of the most concentrated numbers of Archaeological
Mayan ruins in all of Mexico.
Campeche also has two UNESCO World Heritage sites,
the walled City of Campeche which is an authentic colonial
city and the breathtaking Mayan ruins of Calakmul. The State
is made up of vast areas of protected natural parks and
jungles located just south of the historic city on the
Yucatan peninsula and there are two distinctive kinds of climate:
the humid warm and the sub-humid warm. The sub-humid warm
climate has periods of rain in the summer and beginning of
autumn over most of the territory. In the dry season it is
characterised by the convergence of warm winds from the east
and the southwest. Average temperatures are 22-28C.
With a flight time of around 10 hours from the UK, it's a
lot closer than you think and the resort will be serviced
by 3 airports: Ciudad Del Carmen International, Merida International
and Campeche. At present Campeche airport is only receiving
internal flights from North and South America and small international
passenger planes. The runway at Campeche is due to be extended
in the near future and this will allow the larger airliners
to fly in directly from other destinations. The new direct
flight routes make it accessible and the time difference
of 6 hours is less than that of comparable destinations. Property
prices are competitive for a very high quality product, which
over the coming years will prove to be a sound investment.
Capital appreciation in the region has been very strong and
is predicted to see continued growth. Also the huge volume
of visitors to Mexico each year and the current high average
occupancy rates make this destination one of the hottest
new investments in the market.
