Cape Verde
Until very recently, the Cape Verde Islands were little heard
of. Well, the Islands lie some 300miles off the Senegal coast
and the largest of the archipelago is Santiago at 50km long
by 25km wide and neighbouring islands include Sal, Boa Vista,
Maio, Fogo and Brava, 10 in all.
This is soon to change - especially since a famous overseas
property guru ranked Cape Verde number 12 in her top 20 places
in the sun!

While tourism is certainly picking up, Cape Verde is still
independent and unspoiled. The Islands enjoy an unbelievable
360 days of sunshine per year and are geographically
sited such that virtually no extreme weather conditions have
been reported to pass their way. Average daily temperatures
hover between 21ºC and 30ºC throughout the year,
which is warmer and more reliable than even the Canary Islands,
whilst the sea water temperature sits at around 22ºC
to 26ºC all year round and is beautifully clear.
Cape Verde
is certain to become a significant tourist destination and
the current figure of 130,000 tourists visiting each year
is set to escalate to 500,000 by 2015. Whether you're after
an idyllic spot to spend a warm winter or an investor that
wants to reap in the benefits as the market inevitably soars,
Cape Verde could be just the secret that you're looking
for.
Sal Island
is arguably the most developed of the Cape
Verde Islands for tourism and in the beach resort of Santa
Maria, not only can you buy a great value holiday home, but
due to the prime location, rental potential is at a
peak and when you come to sell, who knows what percentage
return you could achieve. You'd be hard pushed to find such
value elsewhere.
