Brazil
Interest in Brazil is intensifying since Brazil has
successfully stabilised both its economic and political standing
in recent years, it is also a country as incredibly fascinating
and beautiful as it is huge; it is in fact the fifth largest
country in the world. Brazil is famous for the Amazon River
and Jungle of course; the latter is home to a unique mixture
of rare and beautiful flora and fauna and the rainforest and
river attract record numbers of visitors and explorers to
the country annually. The temperatures in the country rise
as you travel from South to North with weather in the North
East perhaps the best in the entire country - expect year
round sunshine!
Quite simply Brazil is one of the most exciting and fascinating
countries in the world with an emerging real estate sector
that already offers fantastic investment potential and property
ownership opportunity.
However, the majority of interest is in the country's Atlantic
facing 7,491 km of coastline and in particular the
North-eastern region. And here's why.
For a start there's the near perfect climate and the numerous
semi-virgin beaches, the weather in the North East is the
best in the entire country
with a yearly average temperature of 26 degrees and
is stable and sunny virtually all year around. The scenery
and beaches in the Northeast of Brazil are simply breathtaking
consisting of never ending beaches lined with coconut
trees, lagoons and sand dunes. In addition, the northeast
is the closest point to Europe from Latin America and flying
time is approx. 7-8 hours. Furthermore, unlike many tropical
destinations, Brazil doesn't experience natural phenomena
such as hurricanes and tropical storms nor is it affected
by earthquakes.
The cost of living is around 20% lower than in the UK, property
prices are incredibly cheap and the area is highly accessible
with daily flights from most major European countries.
We are focussing on the area of Natal located at the extreme
Northeast tip of Brazil, the area closest to Europe. So what
has Natal got going for it? Natal is the state capital of
Rio Grande Do Norte and has a population of almost 800,000
people. Natal is a peaceful city while at the same time being
a modern one with shopping malls, bars and restaurants offering
international level cuisine and facilities that put
it on a par with any Brazilian capital. Its main attraction
is its coastline, with over 400km of beaches, dunes and small
pieces of paradise. Natal is also the safest state capital
in Brazil and in addition, according to the research carried
out by NASA, Natal has the purest air on the continent.
Due to the booming tourism and enormous potential for further
growth, the government has decided to build a new airport
in Natal which will be the biggest airport in South America
(the 8th biggest in the world) and is due to be ready by June
2009. This will further confirm Natal's position as the number
1 tourist location in Brazil.
Natal is already well connected to many of Europe's major
cities and receives direct flights from many European
cities such as Lisbon,
Madrid, Barcelona, Milan, Amsterdam, Oslo, Stockholm and Helsinki.
Earlier this year, Thomson Holidays started weekly direct
charter flights from the London to Brazil, and to no surprise
the chosen location was Natal. At present travel time to Natal
from London is approximately 9 hours 15 minutes.
